lay off for a bit…let him calm down and you as well.
Don’t hurt the animal….that’s not cool.

let him calm down, he’s probably scared to death
be QUIET…don’t yell or make loud noises.
Use a calm gentle voice and try again with something other than yogurt that he likes. Turn off some lights so it’s not so stimulating, but you can still see well.

But let him calm down first.
You took him out, he clearly loved it, now he’s got a taste of freedom and wants to have some fun!
GO EASY ON THE LITTLE GUY!

    LOL!

Sorry, I can just see you chasing the little mite all over the house, frantic, yet trying not to hurt him!

    Been there, done that.

Sorry, I don’t have a great answer for you. You have to wait until they’re tired and willing to nap somewhere soft and warm.

Put the yogurt in the back of the cage and walk away. (at this point, he’s probably full, but try it anyway) Stay close and slam the door shut when he goes in.

You can use a small towel or a pillow case as a net. Toss it over him and grab it up gently.
Beware though, it will completely freak him out and it’ll make taming him all the harder.

    ***HINT***
Until he learns to come to his name, or learns that being caught is great (use food bribes for both), only let him out of the cage in small rooms. Walk-in closets are great. Bathrooms are OK, just plug the drains and close the toilet lid.

    Good luck.
